The LEWIS Name

For details of the origins of the LEWIS name see Desmond Holden's 2003 article What's in a Name? LEWIS from The Peak Advertiser.

In 1856 Willian Robert and Elizabeth Ann (Jordan) LEWIS and their first four children arrived in Australia on the ship Conway from Liverpool, England.

Their son John LEWIS married Harriett Elizabeth BRYANT in 1869 at Waterloo (Sydney) connecting those two families.
